Gettin’ Kooky for Kokanee at the Fall Fish Fest

When summer starts to come to an end, things begin to get a little fishy in South Lake Tahoe. That’s because Saturday and Sunday, October 1 & 2, 2016, the Fall Fish Fest begins!  

This festival is the celebration of the annual fall migration of the Kokanee salmon during at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center in Lake Tahoe.

Visitors can join the fun and participate in this free family event which has become one of the most fascinating educational and wildlife viewing events in Northern California.

Some of things to do at the Kokanee salmon festival includes a treasure hunt, fish painting, visits from Smokey Bear, and meeting the mascots of the festival.
