Toruk: The First Flight Premiers in Sacramento

beautyStunning, captivating, exhilarating…and that was just the first 5 minutes of Toruk! (I might add, this writer likes nothing sci-fi nor fantasy, so to win my attention in the first few minutes is a testament to this amazing show).
puppetsToruk, the Cirque du Soleil extravaganza, based on the movie Avatar, opened Wednesday night at the Golden 1 Center with a bang and never let up.
acrobaticsThe music and acrobatic choreography displays were mesmerizing enough, but as only Cirque du Soleil can do, they brought it to a whole new level of entertainment.
A more cardio and fastpaced  show than their norm, the program is chock full of amazing costumes, athleticism, fire, aerials, and even kites!
birdAnd that’s not all, there is even an interactive app to use throughout the show to allow audience members to become part of the theatrics and immerse themselves in the wonder that is Pandora. (Though, WARNING, it will suck your phone battery dry! Instead of a pee break at intermission, we were busy scouring the arena for an electrical outlet).
setThis show is a must see for all ages. The well-thought out lighting, ever-changing set and its insanely intense choreography are worth every minute and every cent spent to enjoy this show…you won’t  even need to worry about following the plot, as the art of the performance is breathtakingly entertaining enough.
